This is far more than a traditional audit role. As our Head of Audit and Risk, you will sit at the heart of the organisation, providing independent insight, constructive challenge and assurance across our most ambitious corporate, place‑based and regeneration programmes. You will be a trusted adviser to senior officers and Elected Members alike, helping to strengthen governance, risk management and accountability in a way that enables innovation rather than restricts it.

Our Audit, Risk and Assurance services are highly regarded across the Council. Recommendations are listened to, valued and acted upon. Under your leadership, the service will continue to be technically strong, forward‑thinking and influential; offering confident, pragmatic advice and working in agile ways to support positive change.
